Two killed as hoodlums burn High Court, police stations, patrol van in River

Hoodlums have gone on rampage in River State, setting ablaze two police stations and a state High in Oyigbo Local Government Area of the state.

Two persons were feared dead during the violence attacks on public facilities.

The hoodlums, who have reportedly hijacked the #EndSARS protests in the state, were said to be shooting everywhere as they embarked on destruction of many facilities in the state.

Also, a police patrol van was burnt at Woji, a town in suburb of Port Harcourt, the state capital, where two persons were reportedly killed.

The violence, which was said to have started very early in the morning spread to Mile One, Diobu, from Ikokwu Motor spare parts area market to Education Bus Stop area of Port Harcourt.

Meanwhile, a contingent of anti-riot police men and an armoured personnel carrier have been mobilized to Oyigbo to ward off the rampaging hoodlums.

Residents, motorists and commuters reportedly fled the area for fear of being caught in the cross fire between the Hoodlums and the security operatives.

The Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, who confirmed that some public facilities have been burnt by the hoodlums, said he was on his way to the area to have first hand information.
