The Southern Governors’ Wives Forum (SGWF) has pledged to undertake joint projects that would impact the region in support of their spouses as the Osun State firstlady, Mrs. Kafayat Oyetola, becomes the forum’s new chairperson.
Mrs. Oyetola, who was elected the forum’s chairperson at the SGWF quarterly meeting at the Edo House, Abuja, through a concencus, gave the pledge while reading her acceptance and inaugural speech at the event.
She expressed gratitude to God and her colleagues for entrusting her with the leadership of the forum, calling for their cooperations to succeed in her new assignment.
Assuring them of quality and purposeful leadership, she also promised to work for common good of the people.
Mrs. Oyetola succeded her Edo State counterpart, Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, who had completed her tenure.
Also, the Akwa Ibom State firstlady, Mrs. Martha Udom, was elected vice chairperson of the forum; the Bayelsa State firstlady, Mrs. Gloria Diri, the secretary; and the Imo State firstlady, Mrs. Chioma Uzodinma, the treasurer.
Other the new executive members include the Abia State firstlady, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu, elected as the Public Relations Officer and the Ogun State firstlady, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, the forum’s welfare officer.
