A suspected drug baron, Rabiu Imam, has been arrested by men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Adamawa State Command.
Tramadol capsules and Diazepam tablets worth over N50 million in street value were reportedly found on him.
The drug trafficker was arrested in Unguwan Madina, Mubi North Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
According to the NDLEA spokesman, Jonah Achema, other illicit drugs recovered from suspect were Tramadol capsules 100mg weighing 550grms; Diazepam tablets 850gm.
The spokesperson, who said the Adamawa State Commander of the NDLEA, Idris Bello, had briefed the Chairman/Chief Executive of the agency, Brigadier-General Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd), on Saturday, disclosed that the drug trafficker was arrested in Unguwan Madina, Mubi North Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
He said the estimated street value of the seized drugs is over N50m.
He said: “It is a trans business border business because the illicit drugs were moved from Onitsha, Anambra state through Yola to Mubi and heading to Cameroon and Chad.”
