Former Osun deputy governor, Iyiola Omisore, dumps SDP for APC

Former Osun State deputy governor, Senator Iyiola Omisore, on Monday dumped the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He was candidate of SDP in the Osun State 2018 governorship election.

Omisore was chieftain of the People Democratic Party (PDP) on the platform he had been elected senator representing Osun East for two terms.

With fanfare his supporters received him at his polling Unit at Ward 6 in Ile-Ife before he officially defected to the ruling party APC.

He immediately picked his membership card. wit wild jubilations from supporters.

Addressing the people, the chairman of the APC in the state, Prince Gboyega Famodun, welcomed Omisore to the party, saying his registration has proved wrong the opposition pedling the rumour that he was only deceiving the APC.

According to Famodun, Omisore’s officially joining the APC would be of immense benefit to the ancient city of Ile-Ife, his home town.

Also, the Osun State deputy governor, Mr. Benedict Gboyega Alabi, expressed his joy that Omisore, has eventually joined the APC.

Alabi, who said Omisore since 2018 had decided to team up with the APC, noted that: “His (Omisore’s) support has brought progress and development to Ile-Ife which will also attract more infrastructure.”
