Bandits have reportedly abducted a traditional ruler of Amo in Bassa Council Area of Plateau State, Ugoh Ababs, in his palace.
The bandits armed with AK-47 rifles and other dangerous weapons on Sunday forcefully whisked the monarch away to an unknown destination, according to a palace source.
The local hunters and some vigilantes were said to have rushed to the palace to rescue the monarch, after they had been alerted but were pushed back by the gunmen’s sophisticated weapons.
A palace staff, Emmanuel Yakubu, said the bandits have reached to the family to demand N20 million ransom.
