Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency otherwise known as Amotekun Corps have arrested three teenage armed robbers terrorizing the state.
Also arrested with the notorious teenage robbers were the mother of of one of them, their herbalist, Kehinde Ayodele, and the mother of the herbalist.
The suspects, Timilehin Femi aka Anini (13); Sunday Ojo aka Oyenusi (16) and Matti Lowe aka Monday Osunbor (16), were paraded on Thursday at the Amotekun Corps headquarters at Alagbaka in Akure.
Femi spoke with journalists, confessing that he began robbing when he was 12 years old, saying his mother, Iyabo Femi, used to give him charm to keep him from being caught.
He said: “I used to keep my gun inside the ceiling and sometimes I used to give it to our herbalist to keep. After robbery operations, we used to hand over the stolen goods to the herbalist who will in turn sell it. But we don’t hand over any cash to him. I have participated in about 46 operations.
For Ojo, who disclosed that the name, Oyenusi, was given to him by people within his neighborhood, revealed that he said he had lost counts of the robbery operations he had participated in.
Earlier addressing a press conference, the Amotekun Commander in Ondo State, Adetunji Adeleye, said: “It is amazing that we have a second time armed robber who named himself Oyenusi and the first timer here is a 13-year-old and confessed that has to climb stool to keep his weapon in the ceiling and he is being empowered by the mother to guarantee that nobody could arrest him.”
